Three Lanphier seniors were presented with a scholarship this morning by Mark Selvaggio, president of Selvaggio Steel, Inc. All three of the students will be studying building & trades or engineering after high school.
Selvaggio Steel remains dedicated to being an innovative company in the steel industry and giving back to our community. Mark’s family has a longtime connection to Lanphier High School as his father, Joe Selvaggio, the founder of Selvaggio Steel, graduated from LHS.
Congratulations to Angelete Gentry, she received a $2,500 scholarship, Connor Janssen, he received a $2,500 scholarship and Connor Weakley received a $5,000 scholarship!

Due to CWLP doing work on the water main, the eastbound lane of Converse Street starting at 11th Street will be closed to all traffic. Student drop-offs and pick-ups will not be allowed on Converse Street. We are routing all student drop-offs and pick-ups to the nearby Caritas Bingo Hall parking lot. Please plan to adjust your morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up accordingly as we work through this minor traffic inconvenience. We appreciate your patience.The safety of our students and staff is our highest priority and we value open communication with our families.

Lanphier High School students enjoyed their time at the High School to College Mixer hosted by the Diversity Center at UIS. High school students were able to interact with current UIS students and explore different departments and organizations.
